Our Assignment

Ahead of the publication of his second book, Jason needed his aging website brought up to date, to reflect his latest commercial as well as artistic work, with e-commerce features so visitors could purchase books and prints.

Approach

We started by evaluating his customers and current revenue streams, and where he envisioned the business going. Next was a deep look at his current site, which had grown organically with no regard for usability – the main menu had more than 28 options, and its fixed location on the left side of the screen dominated every page and blog post on the site. We moved the main menu to the top and made it a “mega menu” to reveal all relevant options for that section on mouse-over. The result is a cleaner home page, and an improved user journey.

Successful Outcome

Eight weeks later the new site launched in time for the first book release event, and Jason was satisfied: “Richard is an excellent web developer and digital marketing strategist. He took a holistic approach to the project, analyzing my profit centers, clients, and target audience. The new site improves the appeal and user journey, blending portfolio and e-commerce functions into a great user experience. I can recommend Richard and his team highly.”
