Richard Carey

After decades designing and building apps, websites, games, stores and systems, and as a film/television producer and director before that, Richard Carey founded RCDM Studio to bring his career-long expertise as a media development executive and global network to new clients.

With services ranging from strategy, creative and product development to organic and paid marketing, Richard and the RCDM team offer services across the complete product life cycle and customer journey.

        

Before founding  RCDM Studio, Richard served as Vice President of Technology for Second Avenue Learning, Director of Technology Product Development for Pearson Education, and Director of Technology Research and Development for Scholastic.

A lifelong entrepreneur, technologist, and showrunner, Richard’s award-winning projects have also included: acclaimed television entertainment specials for ABC, HBO, Showtime, and Universal; team training programs for CBS, Disney, Dow Jones, and Pepsi; pioneering virtual reality initiatives for pharmaceutical giant Pfizer; and documentaries for the National Endowment for the Humanities, Boston Museum of Transportation, WGBH Boston and Minneapolis Children’s Theater Company.

Richard speaks and blogs on emerging technologies, gamification, game-based-learning, and social media, and has moderated or appeared on panels for the Software and Information Industry Association, the Game Developers Conference, the Seybold Conference, the Society of Children’s Book Authors and Illustrators, ProMax, the Levin Institute and the Baruch Business School. Richard  lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
